Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Gardasil 9 vaccine?
Gardasil 9 is an FDA-approved vaccine that protects against nine types of HPV. These include types that cause about 90% of genital warts and those most likely to cause cervical, anal, vulvar, and certain throat cancers.
How many doses do I need?
The number of doses depends on your age at the time of the first shot. Generally, for those aged 15 to 45, a 3-dose schedule (administered at 0, 2, and 6 months) is recommended to ensure full, long-lasting protection.
Do I need to see a doctor before getting the vaccine?
A doctor consultation is optional at SESH Clinic. If you are already aware of your vaccination needs or are completing a series, you may opt for the vaccine-only package. However, if you have specific medical concerns, you may add a consultation for an additional fee.
Are there any side effects?
The most common side effects are mild and temporary, such as soreness, redness, or slight swelling at the injection site. Some individuals may experience a mild headache or low-grade fever.
Can I get vaccinated if I am already sexually active?
Yes. Even if you have been exposed to one type of HPV, the vaccine can still protect you against the other types covered by Gardasil 9 that you have not yet encountered.
Is my vaccination record kept confidential?
Absolutely. At SESH Clinic, your privacy is our priority. All medical records and vaccination histories are stored securely and handled with the highest level of confidentiality.
When should I come back for my next dose?
Our team will provide you with a recommended schedule based on your first dose. We can also send you a reminder via your preferred contact method to ensure you complete the series on time.
